We often try to gather data, input, and opinions from others while writing posts. In an effort to reach more people than just our e-mail contact list, we've introduced a new page to TJP.
On "Current Research!", you'll find information on what we're currently seeking for posts-in-development. When a new post idea is being developed, we'll place information on what we're seeking on that page, and when a post is completed or an idea scrapped, we'll remove that info from the page. We'll probably also post on the main page when we are looking for something on the "Current Research!" page, just as a head's up to you, Dear Reader.
We're currently seeking input on a post about the breast-feeding doll, so check out the "Current Research!" page and participate if you can!

Unveiling The Jane Project 2.6
Hello, Constant Reader!
We're proud to unveil the latest generation of The Jane Project. After the last six months of hacking up our template to obtain desired functionality, the post-truncation (i.e. the "Continue >>" links) function was inoperable and our many-layered tinkerings had simply killed the blog's load-time. The logo was ugly, and the template was difficult to read for any length of time.
Since Blogger finally released its own widgets that provide the functionality intended by our hacks, we gleefully ditched those hacks in favor of Blogger's tools. Now we have a modern, easily-read template that we only had to customize with Blogger's integrated tools. All the functionality works without hack-ups, and the blog loads so much faster !

Requesting Feedback on Logo Ideas
Greetings this fine day, dear Janes and Joes!
We've been playing with logos and branding ideas for quite a while, but actual designers are outside of our budget. We have come up with the below on our own and are asking you for feedback.
Does either of these logos say "Jane" to you? Do you like them? Why or why not? Please be as specific as you can. We'd like to incorporate your feedback because, after all, this blog is for you, dear reader.

TJP Technical Difficulties --> Resolved!
Sorry to advise that while we've been constantly poking at the TJP template to make it absolutely perfect, we've managed to break it in a way that we can neither troubleshoot nor repair:
Nothing on the left navigation bar works. Nothing.
So, an emergency template change (with associated hiccups) will be forthcoming ASAP . . .

TJP Reboot - Update
As you may have noticed, we've re-designed TJP! We're still working out the kinks, so if links are broken or widgets aren't working, bear with us as we hammer out the problems.
The biggest pain right now is that the left navbar is intermittently static (i.e. the links don't work), and we're troubleshooting why. If you have any ideas on that or if you notice anything else, let us know via the webform on the left navbar or at jane[.]doe[.]admin[@]gmail.com.
All links on the left navbar do work from the homepage, though, so pls use that as your workaround for now.

Personal crises and health issues have kept the partner admins away -- Putting out fires, trying to survive, and generally tending our lives is all in a day's work for a Jane!
A spousal employment change, the birth of a child, a cross-country residential move, frequest (but necessary) road trips, plenty of overtime at work, extended-family drama, and other assorted items have conspired to distract us from our love, The Jane Project.
Those of you who have kept us on your RSS feed (bless you!) have already seen today's posts. We hope you enjoy them.
One admin will do the best she can until the other comes back online. Until then, please remember that this blog is all about all of us, so please contribute and please spread the word!

- One of the partner admins MellissaY has unexpectedly become unavailable as of Saturday, June 13. Because there's no current ETA for her return, all maintenance, changes, posts, comment moderation, and submission editing for the short term will be handled by the other admin. Please bear with us during this time if posts, responses, or moderation is slow.
- As a result of MellissaY's temporary absense, any submissions that have been sent to her personal e-mail account are inaccessible until her return. There are no outstanding submissions in the TJP mailbox (pointed to from the links in the left nav bar). If you've submitted something to MellissaY's personal e-mail account, please re-send to the TJP mailbox so that it can be accessed/reviewed/posted.
- Something has gone wrong with the TJP account at our file hosting service Boxstr.com. As a result, our promotional materials and the post truncation javascript are currently unavailable. We have notified Boxstr of the issue and are awaiting their response. Again, please bear with us during the outage. If you'd like to download the promotional materials during this outage, just e-mail TJP asking for the promotional materials and you'll receive them by e-mail.
- Arrangements have been made for written interviews with a US-living couple from Cameroon in which they will tell us about the differences between the two cultures, including their views on marriage (polygamy is optional there), the female function within society, and other topics of likely interest to the TJP community. Please comment with any questions or topics that you would like to see included in the interview, as the questions have not been decided upon yet.
- We've decided to include a podcasting feature as part of the site's re-design. For those Janes that need an audio version to listen to while working or commuting, our plans include both streaming and download options. We'll make an announcement when this feature goes live.
- A possible audio interview with an American Muslim woman who covers by her own choice is also in the works. Please comment with any questions or topics that you would like to see included in this interview as well, as the questions have not been decided upon yet.
